316 Ann St.

Our mission is to be and share the Good News of Jesus Christ, witnessing, loving and serving from our doorsteps “to the ends of the earth.” To be a faithful church demonstrating true community, deep spirituality and a passion for justice.

We invite you to visit and learn more about us. Although each Disciples congregation has its own “personality,” all have members who care for each other, opportunities to grow and learn, and ways to serve others.
Study and fellowship groups offer opportunities to ask honest questions and discover ways to deal with life’s difficult issues. As we share together, we find love and acceptance. Supportive friendships are formed.

In a time when shared moral values seem to be waning, one of our priorities is strengthening programs for children, youth, young adults and families.
Located at 316 Ann Street in historic downtown Frankfort (on the corner of Ann and Broadway), First Christian Church celebrated 175 years in December 2007. And just so you’ll know, our ministries do not stop at the front door of the church building. |
Come, discover our congregation.
We work to make a difference in our neighborhoods and the wider community. As Jesus’ followers, we help in soup kitchens and food pantries, shelter for the homeless or those in crisis situation, and care for the children.
Our ministries reach out across North America and around the world. We “get dirty for Jesus,” repairing homes and community centers, providing relief after natural disasters and bringing hope where there was despair. With partner churches, we are able to tell the Good News, help dig wells, train pastors, immunize children, help persons in times of natural disaster, economic upheaval and political uncertainty.
Come, join us in service.
As you can see from the Worship schedule, we meet weekly to worship God. In the warmth of God’s presence and with the support of others, we grow in our understanding of God in ways that make a difference in our everyday lives. Through worship that is both reverent and contemporary, we discover the joy and trusting and following Jesus.
Around the communion table, we acknowledge Christ’s presence and remember the meal he shared with His followers. All believers are welcome at the table.
Whether you are a long-time follower of Jesus Christ, or curious about Christianity, we can help you explore Christianity and learn about Christ.
Come, worship with us. |

Please contact the church office if you would be interested in being a part of this new ministry. What we do already: recycle bins are EVERYWHERE in the church and used faithfully; we use glass plates, silverware and washable plastic glasses for large meals; use energy-saving light bulbs.
